To support this growth and help Retool scale to the next level, we are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager who can help us elevate this mission-critical function. Your expertise will be crucial in overseeing all payroll functions and navigating the complexities of compliance in a multi-state and global context.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;WHAT YOU’LL DO:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Serve as the primary processor for multi-state US payroll, including processing accurate and timely semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles in Rippling&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Collaborate with our global payroll provider on the monthly UK payroll cycle&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Design, manage, and document full-cycle payroll operations, making continual process improvements to drive efficiency and elevate the employee experience&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Prepare payroll related journal entries in NetSuite and complete payroll account reconciliations in support of month-end accounting close activities&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Manage federal, state and local regulatory compliance including new state setup, W2s, P11Ds, tax notices, and other government correspondence&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Act as the payroll system expert, managing the system on a day-to-day basis, and partnering with the People Operations team to ensure data integrity&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Work cross functionally with the Talent, People Ops, Compensation and Strategic Finance teams, providing expertise on related payroll and benefits matters&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Assist in identifying risks and ensuring proper internal controls for payroll&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Be the principal point of contact for payroll, addressing employee inquiries and supporting various audit and global tax compliance requests&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;THE SKILLSET YOU&#39;LL BRING:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;5+ years of experience of relevant experience&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Knowledge of multi-state and Federal labor laws, pay practices and policies&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Experience working with major payroll systems and data flows. Ability to learn new process flows and systems. Prior experience with Rippling a plus&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Payroll account reconciliation experience&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Strong attention to detail&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Maintain confidentiality and data security, demonstrating the highest level of integrity and professionalism&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex payroll matters to employees and management&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Self-motivated and intellectually curious with ability to adapt, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Proficient in Excel and/or Google Sheets, including experience working with advanced functions (e.g. vlookups, pivot tables)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Tax, HR or related field&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification a plus&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;International experience a plus (UK, APAC)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ability to work independently, owning payroll-specific projects end-to-end by effectively project managing through to completion&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
